September 10, 2008

My school term have re-open. Wah schedule like siao.. Monday and Thursday 7-10pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am – 6pm. Wah liao eh, very xiong. But no choice, no money must work and study. What you reap is what you sow, though i disagree, but just find something to comfort myself lah.

So practically im left with Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. By right every friday i will have gay partner meeting with Cch and co to discuss some business ideas. So friday is taken. Wednesday most likely if possible will play basketball, so im left with freaking tuesday! And this is not including working overtime in the office. Im God damn screwed. Worst thing is, this will go on like for many years. Argh, God hear my prayers?

Anyway must be more hardworking liao, cannot joke too much. Time is running out.

LMA = NTUC ?

September 4, 2008

Sorry for the numerous football posts. Football is something that makes my heart skip a beat. Haahaa. Ok let’s get straight to the post’s title. I guess everyone knows what is NTUC.

A brief summary of what NTUC ( National Trade Union Congress) does :-

Please do correct me if i am wrong.

NTUC actually contains of many unions in many different industry, but their roles are more or less the same.

1) They help to communicate between workers and industry leaders.

2) They try to mantain a fair price in the industry.

3) They try to provide courses and classes so that workers can upgrade themselves to stay employable.

This is roughly what i know. If i am not wrong, in the past NTUC was very ”hot”. A lot of student leaders who became politicians were NTUC members, or held important positions in NTUC. But nowadays, NTUC memeber works like a country club.

Anyway kinda out of point, and if i continue harping on that topic, i just might get into some legal tussle haha. Ok i just wanted to point out similarities between the LMA (League Managers’ Association) and NTUC. I have read a few soccer reports regarding Keegan and Curbishley. If the reports are true, both these managers have been approaching the LMA to solve their grievance with their respective clubs. For the benefit of those who didn’t read the news, both of them went to the LMA to try to sort out the problems they had with their clubs. Which conincidentally was interference of their roles as manager in their football club.

Interestingly the LMA being a ”workers union” did really act as a ”workers union”. They gave really good political answers to the press :-

Quote Soccernet.com : ”Richard Bevan, LMA chief executive, said: ‘The LMA has been working with Alan Curbishley over the past few days in an attempt to resolve his grievances with his employers. Sadly for West Ham United and Alan, reconciliation was not possible in the circumstances.”

”League Managers’ Association chief executive Richard Bevan admitted Kevin Keegan was ‘in a difficult position’. While some would say his position is untenable, and even if the problems were ironed out it would only be a matter of time before they resurfaced.”

Was the above 2 problems solved ? Nope. Did the situation improve? Nope. You guys ever heard of workplace problems being solve by NTUC? Nope? Maybe have, but at least i never hear before. 1 thing i always hear is, NTUC insurance difficult to claim ah hahahahaha. But i still use NTUC lah, support local mah!

So what i can conclude is, all these associations are needed though they are only for show. At least people can complain to somewhere so they won’t feel like they are being treated unfairly. And employees would know that there is a watchdog just in case they really go over the line, some association will be there to stop them. Though i doubt they can do much, but it’s better than nothing.

I know its bo liao post to some hahaha, aiya just blog lah, tmd later u all give me viewership 0 damn sad u know!

We Came, We Saw, We Failed

September 4, 2008

Remember i talk about the tournament. The 1 played on monday. The team had Chenghan, Gabriel, Adrian, Guowen and Me. I think everyone was motivated to do well. I mean we wanted to win, not because of the prize, i guess its a ego thing.

We were in a group consisting of 3 teams. Simple maths would tell you that if we drew 2 then we are through. First game we lost 2-0. Honestly, withing 1min, the opposition score liao. I think we also sort of demoralise and gan cheong. So anyhow cheong liao, in the end they scored again. Second game, we had to win by a margin of 2-0. Attack attack attack, the opposition only kept defending. But again, they counter and score. So we lost 1-0.

Normally i hate to hear people say this ”actually the opposite team is not very good, we should have won.” But yes im going to say this. The oppositions in our group was crap. No one was extremely good. In fact no one was better than Gabriel. So why did we lost? Are we crapier than crap? I absolutely got no idea to this question. In the past, whenever we lost, most likely its because of stamina. But now, i felt that everyone’s stamina have improve. Is it because of wanting too much to win which cause us to be over enthu and we didnt play our game? I mean looking at the standard that day, we should be up there. Maybe we can’t beat the best team, but at least a quarter final berth was not too far fetch right. Was kinda disappointed, maybe it was luck, maybe we were just not good enough. Whatever it is, the feeling was rather sucky.

Anyways after the game we went to have dinner cum supper at Alexandra Village. Wah we had a feast, to quote Cch and Guowen ”machiam we win Champions league” kind of feast. Hahahaa. Quite fun to exercise and then have a good meal. I mean i love my life like this, or maybe im getting old?

Saw this on the internet, for all Vodka lovers (vodka is for kids) :-

10 percent of the Russian government’s income comes from the sale of vodka.

That’s all folks!
