Smashed!

By Randy Lim

I got rob.  Luckily not at gun point.

Anyways let me keep the story short. Yesterday morning, as usual going to work. When i reach my carpark, realise that there was a group of people and a number of policemen. I thought there was a fight or something. But upon looking closer realise that a lot of cars windescreen got smash and their cash card was missing. Obviously i prayed that my car wasn’t 1 of the ”lucky” few. But nowadays my prayers are seldom answered.

The area the robbers smashed was a small hole where the IU is situated. Of course they didnt have to smash the whole wind screen as all they wanted was the cash card. My cash card had a value of $6, to me it was bad business for the robbers. From what i know from Calvin and ”wan bao”, about 30 cars was robbed in Sengkang. I doubt people who had cash card value for $50 and above would leave their cash card in their IU. So $50 x 29 = 1450 + $6 (my car = $1456 was the max the robbers got away with. And of course they wouldn’t do this alone, as they need someone to keep a lookout. So if there was 2 in a team, 1 person will only get about $700.

Seriously smashing wind screen isnt really great fun. You have to ensure that there is no noise and hopefully there is a cashcard somewhere. I think they had a cloth over the area they wanted to smash and then use a hammer or a thong to break the glass.

Funny thing was, i didnt lock my car that day. I mean i forgot to lock. Bloody hell, they could have just open my door, take my cash card and leave my wind screen alone.

Unthinkable what some people might do for a couple of hundreds. God bless.
